Customer's Challenge
To ensure that a professional coffee machine with its wide range of products, numerous configuration options, user languages, and maintenance options is easy to operate, a fully graphical, touch-based user interface is required. The control electronics themselves are subject to significant cost pressures, yet the system must still provide the customer with a smooth user experience.
Outcome
This resulted in complex software, which became even more complex due to the many dependencies on the hardware and, above all, on the machine’s mechanics. At the same time, an optimized electronics design was developed that minimized the number of circuit boards and components without neglecting considerations such as EMC compliance.
Because of the holistic approach and the fast familiarization with the specific industry knowledge, Solcept could also provide valuable input for the integration of the complete machine beyond software and electronics development.
Implementation
This complexity was mastered through an integrated team working with the customer’s developers and an iterative delivery of the software in sprints, enabling the machine to be rolled out to the global market.
Notwithstanding the size of the project, the customer was always informed on the project situation through the transparent project, change and risk management.
