Solcept respects your privacy. We want to make sure that you get the information which is relevant to you.

Scope

This data protection statement gives information about the type of personal data stored by Solcept and its use by Solcept. In case of differences, the German version of this Data Protection Statement applies.

Which Data do we Store?

Solcept stores the following personal data of you for the purposes explained in the next chapter:

  • Your name and contact data
  • Your company and its address
  • The IP address of the access to our web services (The IP address is a unique number which is assigned to your computer. Typically it changes for each access to the Internet. It is also possible that your IP address is fix and makes you identifiable.)
  • Device type (desktop, tablet, smartphone...), browser type/ version and operating system
  • URL ("webpage address") of the previously visited webpage
  • Your emails and as needed conversation notes
  • All Information which you upload to our blog (name, email address, your comment)

We do not pass your data to third parties.

How do we Use this Data?

We use the data for the following purposes:

  • To process transactions: Solcept uses your name, your contact data and your company data to contact you. As needed, Solcept uses this data plus you emails and conversation notes to process your request, your order and your project or to assess your job application. And maybe at the end of the year you get a nice photo calendar...
  • To provide our blog: The blog allows you to contact us and to participate in interactive discussions. All information which you enter as commentator will be stored and is visible for other visitors of the page. We explicitly reserve our right to completely delete inappropriate comments.
  • To improve the content and quality of our website: Solcept uses your IP address, browser information, operating system and the device information used to measure the call rates and call types of individual pages.
  • To prevent abuse of our web services: Solcept uses several systems that detect abnormal activities and prevent misuse by means of the IP address.

How can You Control Your Personal Data?

How does Data Protection look like when we Conduct a Project Together?

If you, respectively your organization become our customer or you otherwise participate in a project, we use different additional tools for communication and documentation. This has an influence on your personal data.

Which Data do we store in Projects?

In projects, Solcept stores the following personal data of you for the purposes explained in the next chapter:

  • Your name and contact data
  • Your emails and as needed conversation notes
  • Your actions and information in the different tools and systems (ticket system, Wiki, version control system...)
  • The IP address of the access to our systems

We do not pass your data to third parties, but they are visible at least partially to other partners participating in the project which are contractually entitled to do so within the scope of the project execution.

How do we Use this Data?

  • To execute the project: Solcept uses all data above as interface between humans, organizations and teams participating in the project. So the project can be conducted and documented on behalf of the customer.
  • To prevent abuse of our web services: Solcept uses several systems that detect abnormal activities and prevent misuse by means of the IP address.

How can You Control Your Personal Data in Projects?

  • Disclosure of your data: To get disclosure of your personal data we store, please contact us using the contact information at the end of this data protection statement. Please not that the observation of trade secrets of your organization has priority over your right of disclosure with respect to emails, conversation notes as wll as actions and information in the tools.
  • Deletion of your data: Because the data are at least partially documenting requirements and decisions for the project, we keep the data until your organization requests the deletion of all data of the whole project. Due to legal reasons this can happen earliest after 10 years from the last placement in the market of the developed product.

How does Data Protection look like when when you Apply for a Job with us?

When you apply for a job with us, this affects your personal data.

Which Data do we store when you apply?

When you apply, Solcept stores the following personal data of you for the purposes explained in the next chapter:

  • Your name and contact data
  • All information from your application documents (e.g. your motivation, date of birth, nationality, curriculum vitae, certificates, information on previous employers, references and job references, data on professional experience, information on training and further education, other qualifications, language skills...)
  • Further details and references, if you provide us with these in a personal interview or as documentation (e.g. interests, hobbies, non-professional activities, reference details of other people...)
  • The IP address of your access to our systems

We do not pass your data to third parties. If your application is successful, we will store certain data for further processing with regard to the employment relationship with you and collect additional information. Details can be found in our privacy policy for employees.

How do we use this data?

  • To carry out the application process:
    • To respond to your contact request
    • To check whether your profile matches the position in question
    • To comply with any legal requirements and obligations and to enforce and defend legal claims
  • To prepare and process the employment relationship: to add you to our systems
  • To prevent abuse of our web services: Solcept uses various systems to detect abnormal activity using the IP address and to prevent abuse.

How can You Control Your Personal Data when You Apply?

  • Disclosure of your data: To get disclosure of your personal data we store, please contact us using the contact information at the end of this data protection statement.
  • Deletion or correction of your data: To have your personal data stored at Solcept deleted or corrected , please contact us using the contact information at the end of this data protection statement. We will retain your application data for a maximum of 12 months following the completion of an unsuccessful application. This retention period does not apply if statutory provisions prevent deletion or if further storage is required for the purpose of providing evidence.

How do You Know when this Data Protection Statement has Changed?

Solcept can occasionally adapt this data protection statement for legal reasons or due to new services. The new data protection statement takes effect on your next visit to our offering. We encourage you to then reread this data protection statement again.
