Customer's Challenge
One of our longest-standing customers sells sensor systems for quality control, in which several dozen sensors are connected to a central control unit. The products must function reliably in round-the-clock operation and under harsh environmental conditions, with a product lifespan of several decades.
As a result, new product development is constantly taking place alongside the maintenance of existing product lines.
Outcome
Because we have many long-term employees, the client was able to draw on existing knowledge even after more than ten years; the expertise had been preserved.
Implementation
For these systems, we have carried out a wide variety of tasks, including project management of internal and external teams, software maintenance and debugging for sensors and the control unit, hardware development, and porting real-time operating systems for the sensors, including bootloader development.
We contributed our expertise in simulation to significantly accelerate algorithm development and sensor testing and we conducted system design and performance evaluations for real-time Linux on the control unit.
