New Control System for a Febetron

After thirty years of operation and many modifications a Febetron (a generator for high-energy electromagnetic pulses) control system had trouble with spare parts and reliability problems.

The newly implemented control system is based on standard components like PLC and PC based data acquisition systems. It now allows automated control of all parameters and the experiment procedure.
