Without up-to-date knowledge of technologies, evolutions, revolutions and trends, without processes, checklists and data sheets development development activities remain suboptimal and inefficient.
To stay in the lead we continously increase our knowledge. For this purpose we have introduced several tools.
How do we Collect, Sort and Share our Knowledge?
We use a collaborative platform, a so called Wiki, of which the most well known is Wikipedia. Internally we use Foswiki, our database contains more than 2500 documents (as of December 2009), indexed and sorted hierarchically according to different technological areas.
Our Wiki is being updated by all employees whenever they find useful information, links or documents. We also feed our Wiki with the information from courses, seminars and exhibitions.
Even our processes for quality assurance are documented in our Wiki, including working instructions, checklists, processes etc.
How do we ensure our professional development?
For Solcept to stay on the leading edge of technology, we have earmarked part of our work time for continued education. This can happen either in the form of seminars, courses and exhibitions, or by the development of concept studies or even by learning how to use a new tool.
