Pragmatic Embedded System Process

The development process should be applicable for two extreme cases and the continuum in between: On one hand for time critical, iterative projects, where the next phase can be started as soon as the last phase a part of the system has generated enough clarity. On the other hand projects in which for e.g. safety reasons a clean V-model with formal releases is required.

Our V-model can be tailored between these two extremes by a more or less strict sequence of the entry and exit gates of the phases. In addition the number of iterations (functional prototype, first protoype, second prototype, zero-series...) and their depth (full traverse of the V, only integration...) can be tuned for the project at hand.
