Processes according CMMI

The most important requisite for a successful development project are the engineers. But also sensible processes are indispensable as a base for correct design work.

This is why we have sharpened our process focus using CMMI (Common Maturity Model Intergrated) once more.

Why Processes?

We believe that only through professional methods the complexity of the projects can be handled which occur in the (also deeply) embedded sector. Think about the graphical user interfaces where more and more the simple operation equivalent to e.g. smart phones is required. Keep in mind the effort for their enhancement and maintenance.

You expect from us predictable effort and quality plus an efficient and lean project management. This can only be achieved if all engineers are working in the same manner, if we learn from the past and if the way to work (the "processes") are improved continually.

What about Your Processes?

If you wish, we adapt they way we work to your internal standards and your quality control system. To this end, the processes are described in a way they can be easily tailored.

Why CMMI?

We have had a look at many possible process models and development methodologies, especially also the agile and lean ones everyone talks about. As we are often developing systems consisting of software and hardware, we have decided for a lean implementation of CMMI which covers systems by definition.

Where are our Process Descriptions Comming From?

We are routinely adapting our processes described in the process Wiki according to our project experience and CMMI.

How are we Living the Processes?

The goal of the process descriptions is to simplify our work through commonly used software-tools and templates. Only as much process description as absolutely needed shall be generated, so the processes remain practicable.

By storing all process descriptions, all templates and all examples in the Wiki continuing improvements are easily possible. Every employee and every project contributes that we can deliver optimum project work for you.

Planned: Appraisal on Level 3

In the medium term we plan an evaluation with wibas GmbH, i.e. an appraisal of the processes we live on level 3 ("defined") of CMMI. So we can see where we can still improve, but we can also show that our processes are used.
